Welcome to Kristen Brooks' website where she will be discussing all types of creating & presenting educational technology #FOREDU. She has been teaching for 27 years in Cherokee County School District and the last 17 years exclusively in various roles of #EdTech. Her passion for education is where students and teachers learn new ways to 'Show what they Know' using educational technology. She created the first elementary Computer Lab and first elementary iPad Lab in her district and taught in both labs as part of the connections team for 14 years at Woodstock Elementary School. While teaching daily she applied and was selected as an Apple Distinguished Educator, Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert, Adobe Education Leader and an Apple Learning Coach. Ms. Brooks is now an Instructional Technology Specialist in her district and works with teachers and students to engage students into their learning with educational technology. In the following pages, she will be explaining projects she taught her 1175 students to create in the Technology Lab and the #WESiPadLab. Students will demonstrate collaboration, technology projects, practice critical thinking skills, improve their communication abilities by presenting to their peers, engage in their learning by becoming knowledgeable of good digital citizenship and will feel comfortable using all of these skills while improving their character. Ms. Brooks enjoys sharing with other educators daily in many ways like Professional Development days, coaching sessions with teachers and student lessons by collaborating with teachers and students to encourage learning with technology. You can find her actively engaged in sharing widely on twitter or presenting and speaking about Educational Technology using #FOREDU #WESiPadLab & #iPads4Elem the three hashtags she created and adds to often on social media.
